Equally so though, we believe the employer is entitled to protection under the law against employees acting recklessly and dangerously with little concern for their employer and/or fellow employees.

Whilst health and safety is a legal and moral requirement which we wholeheartedly endorse , there are also sound financial and business reasons why every company should implement the safeguards and requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act .

The cost of workplace accidents , especially serious ones , can escalate many times over when one considers the financial implications of plant , or site , shutdowns , medical costs and possibly even prosecution and long-term liability to civil claims to be filed years from now . There is also the huge impact on staff morale and productivity to consider in these situations .
